THOMASVILLE Everyone deserves a smile, especially a child, is the reason behind a 7-year-old wanting to help sick children feel at ease by gaining comfort from stuffed animals when visiting the doctor.Laura Lowman, a rising third-grader at Fair Grove Elementary, became familiar with visits to the hospitals at an early age due to her 4-year-old brother, Noah, having a bad immune system and a heart condition. Heart conditions run in Laura's family.
They won't know the extent of Noah's condition until they go to Brenner Children's Hospital and Health Services at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem next month to see a cardiologist.
