
Peter Santoro, a Marine private first class who was awarded two Purple Hearts in the Battle of Iwo Jima, will be leading the parade as its grand marshal.
The 90-year-old's World War II service is a matter of fact and pride for him. He passes out business cards that bear the Marine emblem, and he wears a baseball cap that proclaims his service on Iwo Jima.
