IHOP offers free pancakes Feb. 24 to benefit Miracle Network

IHOP Restaurants in Springfield will join those nationwide and serve free pancakes on Feb. 24 to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network of CoxHealth and sister networks across the country.

IHOP, or International House of Pancakes, will offer guests a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on
“National Pancake Day.”

For every short stack served, IHOP guests will be invited to make a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network of Cox Health.

The goal is to raise $1 million to benefit children’s hospitals and other charities throughout the country.

Last year IHOP pancake eaters donated more than $875,000 to children’s charities, according to an IHOP news release. Since it started National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly $2 million to support charities in its respective communities.

Also known as Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day has been celebrated for centuries in England, the IHOP news release said.
